We embrace the use of technologies to enrich all areas of the curriculum, so therefore online safety plays an important role in safeguarding children at St. Benedicts Primary School.

We have extensive security measures in place to help safeguard pupils from inappropriate content.  They are taught how to stay safe and behave appropriately in the 'digital world' through their Online Safety lessons.  Our staff also undergo regular Online Safety training.

We can only be successful in keeping children safe in the 'digital world' if we work together as a school, community and with parents/carers to ensure the Online Safety message is consistent. 

It is important that parents/carers speak to their child about any worries they may have, how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.

The online safety of pupils at St. Benedict’s is protected by ‘Smoothwall’ which runs on all digital devices. Smoothwall is designed to help monitor internet browsing and alert about activity which might present a risk to the user.
