Key Stage 1 (KS1)
In Year 1 and Year 2 the children follow the National Curriculum as required by the Government. They continue to learn through a creative and dynamic curriculum and cover the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science. The also cover Geography, History, Design Technology, Art and Design, Music and Physical Education which includes Gymnastics, Creative Movement and Games Skills in Year 2. Information Technology is an integral part of the children’s learning and the school is well equipped to meet the children’s needs. We use the 'Letters & Sounds' programme to support our phonics.
Our school is proud of its Environmental, International and Health Work for which we have won awards. Through our Health Education work the children learn about their bodies and how to keep themselves healthy and safe.
Our school follows the Local Education Authority Syllabus which requires the children to know about other peoples’ faiths and cultures.
