St Benedicts's Primary School

National School Breakfast Programme

September 2020

Dear Parents,

Our school has signed up to receive free healthy breakfast food for our children as part of the Covid response offer, under the National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP), which is being delivered by the charities Family Action and Magic Breakfast.

This free breakfast food is available for the Autumn and Spring Terms in school.

As part of this government funded programme, schools can choose to offer children a healthy breakfast at school or at home.  Our plan is to offer breakfast packs which will be available for children to take home until things are settled at school and the current restrictions are eased or lifted.  Children will receive these packs every fortnight to take home.  The packs will include pre packed bagels and cereals.

All allergen information for the foods offered is available here for you to read through.

Hopefully in the future we may be able to offer a breakfast club in school for children to attend before school starts.

The benefits of a healthy breakfast include children being settled and ready to learn at the start of the day.

If you are interested in your child taking part in this free breakfast offer please can you email the school on

enquiry@stbendic.bham.sch.uk for the attention of Mrs Arscott with your child’s name and class.

We hope to be able to start distributing the breakfast packs by the end of September.

If you have any questions please contact Mrs Arscott on the above email address.

Let’s all make sure our children have access to a healthy breakfast in these difficult times.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Williams
