Social and Life skills
Developing social and life skills is an important part of our Resource Base curriculum. Pupils are supported to build friendships, communicate effectively, work with others and develop independence in everyday situations. Through structured teaching, play opportunities, community visits and real-life experiences, children learn important skills such as turn-taking, sharing, problem-solving, self-care, emotional regulation and making choices.
These skills are practised throughout the school day in meaningful contexts, helping pupils to grow in confidence and prepare for greater independence both in school and in the wider community. We place a strong emphasis on helping every child develop the communication, social and life skills they need to achieve their goals and participate successfully in everyday life.
