Visual Supports and Communication in Print
Visual supports are used throughout our Resource Base to help pupils understand routines, communicate effectively and access learning with confidence. We use Communication in Print symbols across the provision, including visual timetables, now-and-next boards, task instructions, choice boards and social stories. These visual supports help to reduce anxiety, promote independence and make learning more accessible for pupils with communication and language needs.
By providing clear and consistent visual information, we help children understand what is happening, what is expected of them and how to express their thoughts, feelings and choices. Communication in Print is embedded throughout daily routines and lessons, enabling pupils to participate more fully in school life and develop greater confidence and independence.
