Occupational Therapy (OT)

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children develop the skills they need for everyday life, learning and independence. Some pupils in the Resource Base receive support from Occupational Therapists who assess areas such as sensory processing, fine motor skills, handwriting, self-care and independence.

Therapists work closely with school staff and families to provide practical strategies, activities and recommendations that can be used throughout the school day and at home. These may include sensory programmes, movement breaks, seating adaptations, fine motor activities and support with dressing, eating or personal care skills.

By working together, we help children develop the skills and confidence they need to participate successfully in learning, daily routines and social activities, supporting their independence both at school and beyond.
