Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT)
Communication is at the heart of everything we do. Pupils in the Resource Base can access support from both Chatterboxes and NHS Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) services, depending on their individual needs. Therapists work closely with school staff and families to assess communication skills, set targets and provide strategies that support speech, language, understanding and social communication.
Speech and language programmes are integrated throughout the school day, enabling pupils to practise and develop their skills in meaningful and motivating contexts. Staff receive training and guidance from therapists to ensure strategies are embedded consistently across the curriculum and daily routines.
This collaborative approach helps pupils become more confident communicators, develop positive relationships and access learning more successfully.
